20 runners covering just over 1,000 miles in just shy of 6 days. Well - that's the plan at any rate.
The 20 runners have been split into 5 teams of 4 each being allocated timed running slots split between 'day' running between 07:00 and 23:00 and 'night' running between 23:00 and 07:00 the following day. In general, each team have been allocated 4 hours each of 'day' running to be shared between the team in any way the team captain sees fit. 'Night' running shifts are 8 hours in a single block. While this equates to 2 hours worth of running for each team member and is undoubtedly going to be a tough challenge, the benefit of assigning the full 8 hours to a single team is that there are only 6 'night' running shifts and so most teams will only do one of these over the course of the week (the more perceptive will realise that one unlucky team will have to be allocated 2 night running shifts).
Below are the teams and allocated running shifts over the course of the 6 days
